About The Kennel

Gentle Giant Bully Kennel was started from the love and passion for the XL American Bully breed. We believe in responsible breeding that is centered around the care and well-being of all the animals we work with. All our American Bullies are DNA tested for health, we believe in doing the right thing while maintaining structure, health, and correctness. Our dogs are not just a business, they are our family first and foremost. When our dogs aren’t training, they are playing with toys on the couch or sleeping in a cozy bed. We believe that this is the life all dogs deserve. Our Bullies have brought us so much joy that we want to share what this breed has to offer with the world.

About The Owner

Gentle Giant Bully Kennel is owned and operated by Samantha Watts. Samantha has always had a love for animals and has recused and rehabilitated animals most of her life. Before starting GGB she was focused on rescuing and training her first American Bully, Burt Tyrannosaurus Macklin. Burt was found wondering the streets of Las Vegas, he had been brutally beaten and abused. It took over a year to rehabilitate him and even though Burt had been through so much trauma, he was the kindest and most loving boy.

Samantha had no idea at the time what type of breed Burt Macklin was until halfway through his rehabilitation. It’s a testament to the breed to go through such abuse and to still be able to trust and love humans. The more she researched the breed, the more she fell in love with the American Bully. All the experts state repeatedly that this breed is sweet, caring, and an ideal family companion. Samantha saw all these qualities firsthand, while rehabilitating Burt and is now a huge advocate for the breed.

A year before finding Burt, Samantha had tragically lost both of her parents back-to-back. Burt was the ingredient that brought Samantha back to life and gave her the strength to start enjoying life again. They were simultaneously rehabilitating each other through all of life’s hardships. Once Burt and Samantha were ready, they decided it was time to get Burt a sister, another American Bully named Laika Allosaurus Watts.

We did a lot of research when looking to buy an American Bully, we wanted to work with the best and most ethical breeders in the business, so we decided to buy from Monster Bully Kennels. When we saw Laika’s picture on MBK’s website, we knew she was the one, she is the daughter of the legendary Morpheus, The Merle God. This puppy has brought a ton of youthful energy into the house and has helped Burt conquer even more of his fears and trauma. There is never a dull moment in our household with these two playing and exploring.

Laika and Burt were the inspiration to start Gentle Giant Bully Kennel. Laika solidified that the temperament and loving nature of the American Bully wasn’t just a unique characteristic of Burt but are innate characteristics of the breed. Samantha’s purpose is to advocate for the American Bully breed by changing perceptions, by showing everyone how kind, sweet, loyal, intelligent, and family oriented American Bullies are.

Samantha is a patient, compassionate, and loving dog owner and breeder. When buying from her you are guaranteed to get a puppy that has been loved like it’s her own.
